Q. What is the difference between a renovation and remodeling?

A. A renovation is the process of improving or renewing a space, such as updating a kitchen or bathroom with new appliances or fixtures or refacing cabinets. A remodeling project will involve structural changes that may change the layout or size of a space or completely change its purpose. Such projects include gutting a kitchen and adding an island, enlarging a bathroom by removing a wall, or adding a 4-seasons room to the back of your house. Remodeling projects will generally be more costly than renovation projects.

Q. Is remodeling the same as construction?

A. Generally speaking, remodeling is simply one type of construction project. At Precision Siding & Construction, we define construction as any process that involves the creation and/or building of a structure or design, including new construction, or changing the interior or exterior of any building or home. Our remodeling and renovation work are part of our construction services, from updating a room to roofing or siding your home to building you a new deck.

Q. What is included in a remodeling project?

A. Your Precision Siding remodeling project in Akron or Medina may range from combining spaces in your home by removing a wall to adding a second floor to your home. From start to finish, your project may include:

  • Design and build services
  • Removing or adding walls
  • Raising or finishing ceilings
